As a mum of two busy young boys, Elzanne Van Der Linde, Miglio’s Top International Stylist 2017, has perfected the balance of motherhood and running a successful business online that puts her customers at the forefront.

“In today’s world time is everything,” Elzanne says. “Managing the time you have available is another story. I’ve learnt to make the most of the time I have by embracing the digital world. I have found the most efficient way to assist my clients is via e-marketing, particularly Facebook and Whatsapp, and then following feedback up with each person online one to one.”

“The most important aspect is the personal touch.  I want my clients to know that I have their best interests at heart and that I want to deliver within their timeframe and budget. My biggest reward is always making my clients happy, making them the best version of themselves and seeing them glow with self-confidence. Jewellery plays a huge part in this very important role.”

“Communication and staying in regular contact with my clients is really important. I facetime with my clients, and after learning about their budget, their needs, likes and dislikes. I forward them various jewellery options via Whatsapp. I use the Whatsapp broadcast feature to contact all my clients weekly. I never put more than 3 photos on, and update it only once a week. It is very important not to bombard them, only give them a teaser. Those who are interested in knowing more, will contact you – they always do!”

“I feel it is very important to make an effort with the delivery of my client’s orders, to get the orders to them on time, beautifully packed/wrapped with Miglio branding and often I pop in some surprise goodies along with their purchase.”

“In addition to my online business, my friend Chrisna Roos and I have been doing workshops covering the dos and don’ts with wardrobe, make up and jewellery, what goes with your body type and face shape. I did the image consulting and jewellery, and Chrisna did the make up. We both had 35 minutes to talk. I covered wardrobe and jewellery choices for your body type specifically, she did make up tips to suit your face shape and eyes. Afterwards the ladies could come forward for one on ones. It was a wonderful day – we limited it to 35 women and charged a small attendance fee. The feedback was incredible and I had great sales too.”
