Things to be thankful for…

With the holiday season fast approaching, we’re taking the time to step back, look at the bigger picture and try to see things from a different perspective rather just being stuck in the daily grind. We sat down as a team and looked at the things we are thankful for and we’ve put our list below. Maybe these things speak to you too…

Who doesn’t love staring at natural scenery? We are thankful to live in a very picturesque area of South Africa and trust us, we don’t take this for granted! We have the ocean, the mountains, the vineyards, lovely rivers and an amazing array of flora and fauna to bask in. And they are all in very close proximity to each other. We really are spoilt for choice and hope that one day, all of you can experience the sheer beauty of the Western Cape, and Cape Town in particular.

When it comes to your family, always put them first. Trust us, you’ll be very thankful in the future. Sometimes in life, they are all you have. Create opportunities to spend time with your spouse, with your children, if you do have children, with your parents and even your grand parents. The absolute wealth of knowledge and stories that you get from older generations amazes all of us and we treasure those moments dearly. Go on adventures, play, hug and love no matter what. Family are irreplaceable. Family is where life begins and love never ends.

What would life be like without your friends? They fill your soul, they keep you going when you think you just can’t anymore and they make you laugh until you’re doubled-over and tears are streaming down your face. Make the most of the time you share with your friends! Leave those phones behind, drink all the coffee you can and chat like there’s all the time in the world. Spoil them with gifts; jewellery is always a bonus when it comes to gift giving. And we’re not just being biased. It truly is one of the most meaningful and precious gifts to give to someone that you care about. It will be something that can be loved forever, and we not just talking about jewellery here.

Buy the tickets, and go on that once-in-a-lifetime trip. Even if it’s just to another city in your country! Explore new cultures, talk to strangers and embrace the change that travel creates in your life. Always remember to try some local cuisine as it’s often the best way to get to know a country’s culture. Grab your camera and take snap shots of your adventures for you to reminisce about. Breathe in deeply. Put your feet up. And rest.

Remember what the holiday season is all about… Give the gift of time and what you get in return is priceless.

And a few little jewellery pieces wouldn’t hurt either!
